Romanji is the term for Japanese words written using English letters. When you are looking for Japanese craft books on sites like Yes Asia or Fujisan, searches can be made easier if you know a bit of 'crafty' Romanji. Terms are after the jump.
These terms are listed with Romanji first and English second:
emburoidori = embroidery
masuktsuto = mascot
fueruto = felt
handomeido = handmade
kawaii = cute
batsugu = purse/bag/pocketbook/tote
nuigurumi = stuffed toy
amigurumi = stuffed crochet toy
zakka/zatsuka = craft/crafts/handicraft
homumeido = homemade

heya! cool post idea :) very handy.
well, another problem is that japanese speakers themselves can't agree on how to romanize borrowed words. so you might also see spellings like:
masukotto or maskoto for マスコット
tezukuri for てずくり
i always mess that stuff up myself. alas, i'm a terrible student~!

As Heather had previously pointed out, the correct romanization for mascot (マスコット) would be "masukotto". If you'll notice, The "tsu" character is written half the size of the other characters. This is used to indicate that the consonant after it will be doubled.
